L3Harris DoD SkillBridge is connecting transitioning service members to career training opportunities within our organization. We will provide service members with valuable civilian work experience through industry specific training certifications and on the job experience during their DoD SkillBridge internship to help them ready themselves for their next mission.

This internship is an opportunity for the service member to gain a full understanding of the job position outlined below.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DOD SKILLBRIDGE JOB OPPORTUNITES YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE U.S. MILITARY WITH 180 DAYS OF SERVICE OR FEWER REMAINING PRIOR TO YOUR DATE OF SEPARATION AND HAVE AT LEAST 180 CONTINUOUS DAYS OF ACTIVE SERVICE.

Job Description:

Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations including working with engineers in setup and calibration tasks as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts components subassemblies and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct online adjustments to products instruments or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments

Essential Functions:

  • Performs rework.
  • Testing troubleshooting and calibrating avionics electronics
  • Repair
  • Work on drawings and diagrams
  • Develop subassembly test procedures
  • Diagnose and analyze problems utilizing a variety of teste equipment

Qualifications:

  • Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years postSecondary/Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • General knowledge of Lean or demand flow manufacturing practices would be helpful.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with team members.
  • Close attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fastpaced work environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving techniques.
  • Basic computer skills.
