Estimation/Design Architect (FT)

Job Description:

• Estimation and Design engineer perform various functions which primarily involve providing detailed estimates and construction drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• They are also responsible for the communication of estimation and design scope of work to PM, supervisors, and contractors/subcontractor in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing complete quantity estimate and studies for all deliverables involved in the assigned scope
• Identify design and constructibility issues and analysis to determine constructibility
• Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of project
• Responsible for preparing and assembling bids and proposals and drawings for various contract types
• Determine required scope through the analysis of site conditions and all contract documents (plans specifications, etc.)
• Measure and value the work done on site
• Collaborate with purchasing staff to ensure that General Conditions and Requirement items are appropriately captured in the estimate
• Perform assessment on subcontractor proposals to ascertain if scope is covered and also manage the risk of scope gaps
• Offer suggestions to the management or appropriate authority for contemplated expenditures.
