Job Description

Our client is a leading global and world’s most advanced and most sustainable petrochemical companies based in Saudi Arabia.Has operations in over 50 countries with a global workforce is hiring a:

Mechanical Engineer | Metallurgist, Materials(Jubail, Saudi Arabia)

The Principal Metallurgistholding Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering (20+ years) andshall be responsible for the design, review, and verification of engineering on assigned projects to ensure safe, reliable, high quality, fit for purpose design in addition to providing consultancy services and studies to Affiliates.

As a specialist, he shall be responsible for developing/updating COMPANY Standards and Guidelines related to Materials, Welding, NDE & Corrosion Engineering.

He shall also be responsible for providing training, coaching, mentoring & transfer technical skills to subordinates and juniors.

REQUIREMENTS:

Â.

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, Masters degree preferred but not essential

Â.

Certification in CSWIP TWI Level III 3.2 or IWE/EWE-IIW, NACE Corrosion Specialist, API 571, API 577, API 580 and API 934 will be added advantage.

Project Execution:
• Support discipline engineers on metallurgical issues, during technical bid clarification activities, face-to-face clarification meetings with bidders, technical evaluation reports, bidder ratings and other bidding cycle activities up to the award of contract
• Review of PDP and FEED packages
• Ensure the timely completion of all studies, designs, specifications, drawings and other documentation for areas of responsibility assigned to him.
• Ensure no material related NCRs during project life
• Involved in MSD, PFD, RBI and P&ID Review Meetings.
• Provide Technical Support subject to material, corrosion and welding engineering to all FEED/EPC Contractor, Vendor, Manufacturer, Site Contractor and Site/Shop Fabricator.

•Required Involvement with Risk Based Inspection Activity during EPC phase.
• Support on approval for technical queries, waiver request/concession request and other technical document.

• Be responsible for the development of staff working under his control. Advise the Department Manager of deficiencies requiring training for correction. Transfer technical skills to subordinates.


Provide support to the project subject to inspection and testing during all phase.

Provide a consultancy service to the Affiliates, Mega and Site Projects.
Provide technical assistance to other departments and groups as necessary.

Â.

Review and approval of waivers and clarifications related to SES, within PE&S KPI targets

Â.

Performs in a multi project, multi discipline and multi cultural environment ensuring the procedures, standards and best practices are followed.

Â.

Facilitates resolution of complex technical engineering and design issues arising during execution of mega projects and site projects.
