Job Description
- Responsible Person on all aspects of Electrical Engineering, HSE related issues. Hazardous Area Ex and Cathodic Protection compliance on existing and future facilities.
- Will provide excellent client, vendor and financial liaison.
- Take part in audits, inspections and safety observation tours. Giving clear direction to overcome or design out Electrical issues.
- Create a register of equipment tags and daughter tags for identifying all items of equipment for entry into CMMS and P&ID’s
- Review current P&ID’s and where there are inaccuracies or omissions, ensure accurate, updated and authorised copies are produced for your discipline area of expertise.
- Ensure adherence to; and implementation of, Management of Change Procedure from inception through to Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning.
- Advise on electrical priorities to Shutdown Team Supervision and support the prompt execution of all projects pertaining to the position
- Apply solid engineering judgement at all times and ensure BP’s current and future codes, procedures and standards are adhered to.
- Periodic reviews of Electrical Work Permits. Provide guidance as required.
- Assess, mentor on competency / implement training needs of Electrical personnel.
- Investigation Team member for HSE incidents.
- Communicate Electrical instructions on; and confirm full understanding to prevent repetition of Near Miss incidents
- Periodic reviews and revisions of Checklists pertaining to the position
- Consider needs and engineer solutions to enhance maximum plant availability and integrity of equipment.
- Provide guidance to the Planning Team Leader and Procurement Coordinator
- Compile / distribute comprehensive reports.
- Contribute to Management Team handovers on request.
- Compile Electrical handovers pre / post field breaks.
- Fully support the clients’ Materials Maintenance Management System.
- Active involvement in commissioning after plant trips, pre and post shutdown campaigns, modifications or new plant post engineering is expected.
- Thorough grasp of the Construction Supervisors’ function and able to provide the wide ranging procedural, engineering, vendor, hands-on and soft skill support the role requires.
