Our Client A major national bank is hiring a Business Development Officer tasked with managing all facets of customer interactions related to the Small Business Administration (SBA) including business growth risk assessment operational efficiency underwriting and relationship cultivation.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Initiate SBA loans equipment leasing and AssetBased Lending (ABL) financing transactions for small businesses across the country.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients and brokers who directly engage with small business proprietors.
- Leverage networking and referrals to create business opportunities and identify potential borrowers among small business owners.
- Enhance market presence in designated areas and sectors.
- Illustrate the advantages of the Bank s entrepreneurial lending approach and its capacity to address the needs of small business owners nationwide.
- Collaborate with the Chief Business Development Officer and the Bank s marketing team to formulate marketing and sales strategies.
- Generate leads prepare comprehensive financing applications submit loan proposals for underwriting and present loan requests to the Credit Committee.
- Identify credit opportunities within the target market and propose appropriate funding solutions.
- Secure customersigned agreements following loan approval and coordinate transaction funding with the Bank s Operations Group.
- Meet annual production targets.
- Actively utilize Salesforce and other related origination platforms to facilitate a smooth deal flow.
Last year our client facilitated $1 billion in SBA loans and aims to increase that to $1.35 billion this year. They provide financing for various sectors excluding agriculture and cover areas such as real estate business acquisitions hotels and gas stations.

Educational Background and Experience
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of sales experience in the financial services sector.
- A Strong background in the SBA industry is essential.
Additional Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrated sales proficiency in addressing the financial needs of Small Business Owners with an ability to broaden business prospects.
- Proven track record of generating $20MM in production annually over the past three years.
- Experience in marketing and risk management.
- Strong skills in credit analysis and commercial lending.
- Familiarity with financial statements cash flow evaluation and loan structuring.
- Solid understanding of the SBA Loan Program.
- Outstanding interpersonal verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong skills in account relationship management and business development/B2B sales.
- An active referral network is preferred.
- The position may be based in any preferred national location.
