Be present and willing to do whatever it takes from 7:15 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday including occasional Saturday sessions 7:301:00 PM) and 23 weeks during the summer to ensure all scholars receive a highquality music education that supports their holistic development.
Assist in the development and refinement of the band and/or choir curriculum ensuring alignment with Oklahoma Fine Arts Standards and KIPP Tulsas mission.
Plan structure and deliver daily rehearsals and music lessons that are engaging rigorous culturally relevant and aligned with a yearlong scope and sequence.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs skill levels and interests of students across both middle and high school grades.
In collaboration with Special Education staff ensure that all IEPs and student learning needs are supported through appropriate accommodations and modifications.
Foster a classroom and rehearsal environment that is positive structured joyful and conducive to creativity and learning.
Communicate with students and families including being available during evening hours by phone to address musicrelated questions practice support and performance preparation.
Performance Data Reflection and Growth
Organize and lead school concerts performances and musical showcases throughout the school year that highlight student progress and celebrate the arts.
With support from school leadership use scholar participation data practice logs formative assessments (e.g. playing tests vocal assessments) and performance rubrics to drive planning and instruction.
Engage in regular reflection and seek opportunities to grow your craft through coaching peer collaboration and professional development.
Participate in KIPP Tulsas coaching and evaluation cycle incorporating feedback to enhance instruction rehearsal strategies and student engagement.

Help build a joyful inclusive and highexpectations music culture across middle and high school.
Build strong positive relationships with students families and staff grounded in mutual respect high expectations and shared joy for the arts.

Qualifications :
Experience and Qualifications
Experience and strength in teaching music education including concert band choir and show band/marching band at the middle and/or high school level.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop student performances competitions and public showcases that build school pride and community engagement.
A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred particularly in music or performing arts settings.
A strong passion for being part of a missiondriven teamoriented school culture focused on equity excellence and opportunity for all students.
A deep commitment to growth and continuous improvement with a desire to become a more effective educator by learning alongside the KIPP Tulsa team and family.
Proven success in raising the performance and engagement of traditionally underserved students especially in creative or performancebased disciplines.
Minimum of a bachelors degree in music education vocal/instrumental performance or a related field.
Oklahoma State teacher certification in music preferred (applicants currently pursuing certification may apply).

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a FullTime 10month teaching position.
