Air New Zealands Supply Chain team have permanent and fixedterm opportunities available in Auckland for experienced Supply Planning Specialists (SPS) within the Supply Planning Chapter.
The role of the Supply Planner is to develop and execute inventory plans for portfolios of items based on demand actual orders network lead times and available inventory. Youll be responsible for developing both short and long term end to end supply chain plans for items procured externally and/or produced internally.
Under limited supervision these roles will define the appropriate inventory levels and associated required capacity to optimize service working capital and costs. These positions are key drivers in ensuring material availability by assuring adequate inventory is available to fulfil customer demand while minimizing inventory waste and supply chain costs.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop inventory plans by utilizing current demand inputs and collaborating with engineering and maintenance demand planning commercial partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure inventory is managed according to constraints and meets internal targets aligned with the business strategy
- Maintain capacity plans production schedules and/or finite schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory service and cost objectives.
- Set preferred stock levels and prevent excess inventory
- Monitor and track inventory levels service levels surplus/obsolete inventory vendor performance and any other relevant KPIs to identify variance from goals. Use all available resources to analyse root causes and recommend possible actions to improve KPI results
- Analyse and initiate changes to supply chain data elements impacting the supply plan such as safety stock settings lead times network sourcing etc
- Prepare detailed reports relating to MRP back orders and schedules
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide regular updates on inventory projections. Lead weekly supply review meetings to discuss supply shortages and recommend mitigation strategies. Escalate to leadership any issues that arise
- Coordinate with demand planning deployment transportation warehousing and customer service teams to address any changes to supply plan and solve any shortage scenarios that occur
- Coordinate and liaise with procurement and key suppliers fostering partnerships and enhancing supplier performance to ensure supply and support longterm business goals
- Initiate and lead process improvement projects to drive better efficiencies and yield improvement in KPIs
- Execute new item product launches and/or discontinuations to meet customer expectations
- Develop capacity assessment to support supply chain reviews/decisions
- Identifies ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas
We are looking for resourceful planners with strong influencing skills who are technically proficient in MS Office spreadsheets email presentation and slideshows database management SAP ERP PowerBi. Youll have exceptional presentation hard skills including visual communication slideshows research data analysis reporting and graphic design.
