Position Overview

This is a regular student technical position in which the student will gain handson experience in organizing a largescale sporting event. The student will work closely with the Events Coordinator and Wellness Center staff to ensure seamless coordination and of all event components. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to enhance their skills in project management event logistics and teamwork while contributing to an inspiring cause.

Hours per Week

  • Up to 35 hours per week maximum MondayFriday plus occasional evening and weekend shifts required.
  • The individual chosen for this position must be able to work the first weekend in June.

College/Department Overview

The Endeavor Games is a premier multisport event providing opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities to compete at all levels. The Games mission is to empower individuals celebrate diversity and promote inclusivity through sports. This event is part of the Wellness and Sport Department.

Department Specific Job Functions

  • Assist in the planning and of preevent activities including venue selection vendor coordination and athlete registration.
  • Coordinate logistics such as scheduling transportation accommodations and equipment management.
  • Communicate with athletes volunteers sponsors and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts including social media updates email campaigns and outreach.
  • Help organize and manage eventday operations including setup checkins and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and accessibility standards throughout the event.
  • Complete postevent tasks such as gathering feedback preparing reports and assisting in debrief meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Enrollment Requirements

Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least halftime to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Halftime enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled fulltime to be eligible to work as a student employee. Fulltime enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.

Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.

Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. This pertains to both regular and Federal Work Study Program positions. Contact for more information.

Qualifications/Experience Required

This position requires the student have an active and valid drivers license for approval to drive a motor vehicle or a golf cart as a part of their job responsibilities.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

Preference will be given to students majoring in recreation management marketing public relations management or communications.
