We are currently seeking an experiencedStaff Accountant.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets liabilities profit and loss tax liabilities and other related financial activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
- Maintains the general ledger
- Records journal entries and completes month end close
- Prepare and record check deposits
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts payroll customer accounts and other financial accounts
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILL & ABILITY:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field required.
- At least two years of related experience required.
- Valid drivers license in the state of residence plus threeyear driving history and a driving record in good standing at the time of hire.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting preferred but not required
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Proficient with Sage Intacct preferred but not required
- Maintains positive working relationships with staff members both at the administrative offices and at program locations
