JOB PROFILE

PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Company

An established and fully accredited communitybased notforprofit healthcare provider of highquality compassionate care for the elderly and frail individuals with aging serious illness orgrief challenges. These services include hospice and palliative care grief support and the PACEprogram. This provider began serving Western Colorado 31 years ago and today serves a 10000mile radiusto include Grand Junction Delta Montrose Ouray Plateau Valley DeBeque Mesa and Rifle.

Scope of the Job

The President and Chief Executive Officer will report to the Board of Directors and will be basedin Grand Junction Colorado. The incumbent will serve as a strategic visionary and influentialleader with the skills passion and commitment to advance the organizations mission visionpurpose and values. The CEO will oversee and have ultimate accountability for the organizationsoverall performance quality safety care delivery functions employees and volunteers.

The perfect candidate will be an authentic valuesdriven leader who inspires and collaborates withothers. The incumbent will drive employee and volunteer engagement and satisfaction continuedeveloping programs that improve quality metricsand increase community satisfaction.

You will be expected to:

Provide Strategic Vision and Leadership

Oversee the administration and management of the organizations missionvision purpose and values. You will have full profit and loss responsibility for the businessensuring topline and bottomline growth objectives are met or exceeded.

Cultivate a strong and transparent relationship with the Board of Directors and itsCommittee and SubBoards to meet the obligations and effective governance of the organization.

Establish and direct the organizations strategic agenda and coordinate the development of newinitiatives.

Provide organizational leadership and guide leadership responsible for attaining strategicgoals and objectives.

Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and partnersworking with the organization to meet its mission and support common goals.

Strengthen Infrastructure and Operations

Ensure the delivery of highquality care and services while managing for current and futuregrowth.

Oversee the organizations fiscal management including long and shortterm financial planningto ensure sustainability; ensure financial controls and present an annual budget to the Board ofDirectors; provide regular budget statements and forecast analysis.

Develop a skilled knowledgeable and diverse workforce capable of attaining short andlongterm strategies; ensure immediate need and longterm succession planning for key roles.

Support and motivate the staff; facilitate crossdepartmental collaboration and strengtheninternal communication with staff throughout the organization.

Create and promote a healthy culture and diverse workforce that supports consistency andaccountability throughout the organizations operations.

Assures the effective development and of philanthropy efforts of the organization andmaintains an active role with donor relations.

Organizational Development

Serve as the main spokesperson for the organization through media releases conferencepresentations seminars conferences and other opportunities for communicating activities goalsand success both locally and nationally.

Increase and encourage employee opportunities for development and advancement.

Promote awareness of the need for serious illness and endoflife care to build a more educatedcommunity.

Program Development

Assure wellplanned and timely delivery of programs through new and existing staff and externalpartnerships.

Develop and implement standardized policies procedures and plans to provide consistentguidance to staff.

Assure programs and the organization comply with all local state and federal laws andregulations.

Effectively communicate operational and strategic annual and longrange organizational goals toleaders managers and staff to attain quality results and success in meeting objectives.

Candidate Requirements

1. We seek a seasoned healthcare executive with a minimum of 15 years of progressive leadershipexperience. Candidates should have a proven track recorddemonstrating operational and fiscal effectiveness as a resultsoriented healthcare professionalteam builder and leader. A Masters level education or higher is required (MSN/MBA/MHA).

2. We seek a missiondriven executive and leader with a demonstrated track record of success inthe notforprofit segment. Significant knowledge of the serious illness endoflife andbereavement industry is required. The perfect candidate will be a wellbalanced executive withcompassion cultural and diversity sensitivity community focus and a businessmindedprofessional.

3. We seek a wellrounded executive who is comfortable at all levels within the organization. Theincumbent should be comfortable as the spokesperson within the community. The incumbent willdevelop relationships with key philanthropic foundations financial supporters healthcare systemsproviders community leaders payors advocacy groups and other professional organizations.

4. You should have considerable experience working with or as a member of the Board of Directors.

5. You must be an accomplished leader passionate about delivering highquality care.You must possess uncompromising ethics and integrity that will reflect favorably on theorganization and in the community.

Specific Competencies & Requirements Include:

Thorough knowledge of the serious illness endoflife and bereavement industry.

Thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry and related trends.

Strong commitment to the professional development of self and team.

Successful track record of recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.

Ability to set clear priorities delegate and guide people and systems; keen analytic

organization and critical thinking skills which support and enable sound decisionmaking.

Excellent coalitionbuilding skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with avariety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensusamongst differing opinions.
