Description

SUMMARY

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for the review and reporting of safety related programs policies and practices. While this position has administrative duties the majority of tasks to be performed require the candidate to be on the production floor observing and auditing. While this position description addresses the main tasks there is an expectation of other tasks and duties that could be assigned when necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety
    • Performs regular formal audits of safety programs processes and procedures to include facility inspections behavioral observations near miss reporting etc
    • Works closely with plant leadership to find solutions to safety related issues identified during audits.
    • Provides safety training as necessary and required ie Bloodborne Pathogens Hazard Communication etc
    • Perform and document Job Safety Analyses and PPE Assessments.
    • Perform the required computer system entries for safety incidents into the Gensuite Application and the creation of additional reports as required based on the severity of the incident.
  • Environmental
    • Provides regular and formal audits ensuring compliance with environmental requirements such as secondary container labeling instrument functionality spill control items and reporting etc
    • Coordinates Hazard Material Storage and Removal
      • Performs weekly inspection of storage area
      • Ensures compliance with Hazard Material Storage requirements
      • Schedule shipments for removal of Hazard Materials per EPA standards
    • Provide assistance with the compliance of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan to include storm water sampling and facility inspections as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR/ AED operations
  • Experience or knowledge of computer applications ie Excel and Power Point
  • Must have above average written and oral communication skills
  • Must be selfmotivated and have good time management skills
  • Requires minimum day to day supervision
