The School of Business hosts four departments: General Management & Human Resources Accounting & Finance International Business & Supply Chain Management and Entrepreneurship Marketing & Social Innovation. The School of Communication Studies consists of four majors: Journalism and Digital Media Broadcast Media Studies Information Design and Public Relations.
The Bissett School of Business is an accredited member of EFMD a global nonprofit membershipdriven organization dedicated to management development.
The Department of Accounting and Finance offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in both Accounting and Finance. The BBA Accounting major prepares students for careers as professional accountants in public practice corporate enterprises and public institutions. Students completing the BBA Accounting major can graduate by completing six core accounting and four optional accounting/finance courses. Alternatively students can choose accounting courses to be prepared for direct entry to the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Professional Education Program (PEP). The BBA Accounting program also includes an Honours Program and a Cooperative Education option.
The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University invites applications for a threeyear term appointment in Accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor with the provision for reappointment subject to satisfactory performance in teaching and service and budgetary approval. The position will commence on August 15 2025. This position will be hired into the TeachingService (TS) work pattern. The TS work pattern includes teaching (the equivalent of eight 8 threehour classes per week each academic year) and service at the Department Faculty and/or University levels. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses on accounting data analytics and accounting information systems and to support the development of an analytics curriculum in the Accounting program.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of our accounting team and contribute meaningfully to departmental priorities and activities. As MRU considers developing industry connections to be a critically important part of our programs the selected candidate may be required to actively liaise with industry partners and professional associations on behalf of the department and the Bissett School of Business.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience or background in curriculum development preferably in accounting data analytics and/or accounting information systems complying with CPA competency map requirements.
