Job Description

The Job Mission
As a Senior Civil Engineer Steel Structures you will oversee the integrity and compliance of major steelwork structures within the Sizewell C project. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards while managing key technical issues. Your missions will include:

  • Ensuring design requirements are met and effectively managing technical risks.
  • Reviewing and approving steelwork design packages including drawings calculations and reports.
  • Providing highlevel assurance of nuclear civil engineering designs.
  • Ensuring compliance with seismic and highhazard design standards.
  • Supporting and defending nuclear safety case substantiation processes.
  • Managing compliance with CDM 2015 as a Principal Designer.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to align technical and safety objectives.

 


Qualifications :

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong experience in steel structure design preferably in the nuclear or highhazard sector.
  • Expertise in seismic engineering and designing for extreme conditions (blast fire tornado).
  • Proficiency in FEA modelling using ROBOT Ansys or RSTAB.
  • Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer status.
  • Experience working on largescale engineering projects in a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and regulatory compliance.
  • UKbased and eligible to work in the UK.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in clientside engineering assurance.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety case requirements and UK regulations.
  • Experience in digital civil engineering design.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks for project coordination.
  • Prior experience with major UK nuclear projects
