SURVEY CREW CHIEF
Westwood Professional Services Inc.
Westwood Professional Services Inc.is seekingaSurvey Crew Chief to join our team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing highlevel professional services to our clients. This position will lead a survey team in the field collecting data to support design activities boundary surveying providing sketches and layout to support construction activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to internal and external clients
- Perform field work for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking boundary location ALTA and topography for various project types
- Organize field staking materials as necessary
- Operate GPS total stations scanners and data collectors
- Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders
- Provide communication to the office teams regarding project status daily progress and issues
- Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
- Adhere to the companys Safety Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies
- Ensures division regional and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
- Lead by example display solid judgment good values trust honesty openness and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote rural or urban surroundings
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions subject to weather insects and changing environments
Required Experience
- Ability to effectively lead a survey crew and train/mentor survey crew members
- Must be able to operate a total station and GPS in both static and RTK modes surveying activities pertaining to control networks boundaries ALTAs topography and construction staking.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean driving history
- OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid or ability and willingness to acquire it
- Must be able perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence
- Basic office suite computer skills
Preferred Experience
- An Associates Degree in Surveying Engineering Technology or related area of study
- Land Development both Commercial and Residential and Public Infrastructure Projects
- Coordinating activities with office personnel including surveying technicians and engineering staff
- FAA Part 107 UAS License
