Job Overview: As a Dealership Parts Counter Clerk you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients who visit the dealership parts counter to purchase or inquire about automotive parts and accessories. You will be providing service to individuals companies and internal members of our service department. You will be the primary point of contact for customers answering questions and recommending the right parts for their needs. You will also be responsible for maintaining an inventory of parts ordering the correct parts for each requestkeeping records of sales and purchases and ensuring the accuracy of orders.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers and employees who visit the dealership parts counter and assist them in locating and purchasing the parts they need
Answer customer questions and provide advice on the selection of automotive parts and accessories
Maintain an inventory of automotive parts and accessories ordering additional inventory as needed
Keep records of sales and purchases ensuring accuracy of invoices and receipts
Assist in pricing and labeling of parts and accessories
Work with mechanics and technicians to ensure they have the parts needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance
Unload orders and supply pallets
Maintain a clean and organized parts department ensuring a safe and efficient work environment
Continuously learn about new automotive parts and technologies to ensure customers receive accurate and uptodate information
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
Extremely high attention to detail able to verify accuracy at all stages of the order and transaction
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills
Able to drive a forklift once trained
Some knowledge of automotive parts and accessories and their applications
Physical Requirements
Able to stand and walk for several hours at a time
Able to sit and operate a computer for several hours at a time
Able to operate vehicles safely
Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Able to bend kneel and squat as well as use either or both hands to reach in all directions.
