Location: Rye Brook NY

Hours: 10:00pm 6:30am; Monday Friday (shift differential available)

Fulltime: Benefit Eligible

In this role you will:

• Perform all technical aspects of grossing using a variety of laboratory materials and equipment.

• Ensures specimen integrity upon arrival and throughout the entire process.

• Enters a gross description for each specimen including but not limited to anatomical site size color weight dimensions count volume cut techniques abnormal findings dissects and prepares tissue for cassettes.

• Escalates nonroutine complicated specimens to a Grossing Tech II Supervisor or Pathologist.

• Maintains accurate work records.

• Prepares dissected tissue specimens and place into cassettes.

• Performs Quality Control and Quality Assurance Procedures.

• May label requisitions specimen containers and cassettes.

• Maintains laboratory equipment and tracks all routine maintenance and quality controls performed.

• Operates cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment glassware instruments and workstation.

• Disposes of hazardous chemical wastes per regulatory guidelines.

• Maintains strictest confidentiality.

• Complies with all State Federal professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules polices and procedural manuals.

All you need is:

• Completion of one of the following: Associates degree in biology or chemistry or successful completion of a NAACLS accredited histotechnology program or Associates degree with 12 semester hours of biology or chemistry.

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician or Histological Technician license.

This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Salary starting $40.00 $48.00 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
