Job Title Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician Level II Location Tripler Army Medical Center Honolulu Hawaii Description The Biomedical Equipment Technician Level II (BMET II) is responsible for performing maintenance cycles on Medical Equipment Sets including technical inspections repairs calibrations and overhauls. This role requires experience with Department of Defense (DoD) systems and standards strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently within a structured logistics and maintenance environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct scheduled (preventive maintenance inspections) and unscheduled (repairs) services of medical equipment to include visual inspections electrical safety inspections calibration and performance verification. Interpretation of scheduled services results to determine whether equipment is safe and operating within manufacturers specifications. Document and manage all entries of preventive maintenance inspections and equipment repairs in the designated system of record. Ensure compliance with military and federal regulations regarding biomedical equipment safety and performance standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Travel Occasional travel 015 within the territory of Hawaii may be required. Work Schedule To be established by client. Qualifications Graduate of a Biomedical Equipment Specialist/Technician Course Associates or bachelors degree from an accredited college in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering. Minimum of four years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical devices/systems. Knowledge of technical aspects of electronic equipment and its operation repair and maintenance. Knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment. Knowledge of current regulatory requirements. Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology as applied to use of biomedical equipment. Knowledge of color code conventions used in component and wiring marking. Ability to analyze repair and test electronic and electromechanical equipment. Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections. Ability to run diagnostic programs. Ability to interpret schematics wiring diagrams and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation. Skill in testing electronic equipment. Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa. Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
Salary The salary range for this position is $65000 to $75000 annually.
