Step into Your New Role

As a Construction InspectorSenior you will perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance standards codes and ordinances zoning regulations as well as contract plans specifications and special provisions. Projects will consist of bridges roadways and environmental components to these services. This position is available in Northern Virginia Richmond burg Christiansburg and Hampton Roads areas of VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards codes and specifications.
  • Prepares and submits daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
  • Must adhere to all project contract documentation and testing of materials associated with inspections.
  • Assists in the preparation of contract change orders contract estimates progress pay estimates and other documents or reports required by the project.
  • Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
  • Coordinate and perform field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
  • Implement quantity calculations for pay estimates.
  • Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork grading profiles and special staking procedures.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with contractor owner and project stakeholders as directed.
  • Ability to act as the onsite Administrator in the absence of the onsite Administrator.
  • May direct and coordinate assigned staff as well as mentors technical expertise with others.
  • Actively participate in Kleinfelders Safety Programs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years in the field or in traderelated training in a design construction inspection construction materials engineering/testing or other construction related field.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection and field testing of construction materials.
  • Must be able to read write comprehend and speak English fluently.
  • Attendance punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
  • Able to work independently make routine decisions concerning construction work progress.
  • Current/valid State Drivers License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.
  • Construction field materials testing certifications i.e. Asphalt concrete workzone pavement marking environmental etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent to include courses in related work type.

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $28$37/hr.
