Job Description
Duties:
- Assist with HVAC Controls Design and Submittal reviews
- Assist in reviewing utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro commissioning
- Assist in reviewing EMS and energy data and alarms to identify no cost/lowcost energy conservation measures
- Assist in the review of EMS energy data and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures
- Perform site visits to investigate as built conditions on identified projects
- Implement lowcost to nocost solutions or alternatives to projects/repairs of EMS systems at existing school sites
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical electrical and controls problems
- Respond to basic warranty calls
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment
- Assist in managing InHouse Commissioning Projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Required Experience:
- Minimum of three 3 years professional experience in building controls or a related field
- Understanding of computer networking principles including configuration maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to wire start up and troubleshoot basic HVAC maintenance issues
- Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.
Required Education:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelors or associate degree in engineering (mechanical computer science electrical information technology)
- Twoyear technical degree in HVAC Electronicsrelated studies with additional 2 years of experience to compensate for education on a yearforyear basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers including Automated Logic Carrier Delta Distech Schneider Electric or Trane
- Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic startup phases
- Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites
- Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS
