What a day on the job looks like:

Our occupational therapy treatment team embodies the Developmental Relational model to address performance and participation in daily tasks that are impacted by mental health. As a provider at Intermountain you will be part of a multidisciplinary team who works at the client level and an organization that works to be an agent of change in mental health care across the state.

Occupational therapists at Intermountain have the flexibility of working 1:1 developing group sessions and providing consultation for clients. Our occupational therapists also have the opportunity to provide services at our intensive residential campus outpatient clinic and within the natural environment of the home and/or community.

Intermountain wholly supports therapists providing services using a family centered and strengthbased approach in the most beneficial environment. On a daytoday basis our occupational therapist:

  • Uses holistic evaluation methods to identify clients needs and determine qualification for services.
  • Develops and implements a family centered strengthbased treatment plan to meet the individual client goals.
  • Provides training and collaboration with the child family education team and multidisciplinary team. At Intermountain we closely work with mental health therapists and case managers to coordinate a cohesive plan of care.
  • Works closely with the occupational therapy team to support guide give and receive feedback to other team members regarding the implementation of treatment as needed.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Graduated from an accredited institution with a Masters or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain licensure in the state of Montana
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a drivers license in the state of Montana
  • New graduates are welcome to apply with conditional employment upon obtaining the above listed items with an option to procure and practice using a temporary license
