Job Opportunity: Compliance Officer (FullTime Hybrid)

Sole Hire LLC has been exclusively retained to assist a higher educational facility in Rockford IL in identifying an exceptional candidate for the role of Compliance Officer. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone with a strong background in higher education compliance and an indepth understanding of Illinois Higher Education rules and regulations. The role is hybrid requiring 23 days in the office per week with potential for increased inoffice requirements during the busy fall season to meet organizational needs.
Position Overview:
The Compliance Officer working in partnership with the Director of Compliance is responsible for ensuring institutional adherence to state licensing programmatic and accrediting agency standards. This individual plays a critical role in supporting compliance processes while monitoring Illinois regulatory changes impacting the institution. The role also involves preparing for audits agency visits and managing required licensing and accreditation documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate accreditation applications including new applications substantive and nonsubstantive changes to state programmatic and accrediting bodies.
- Develop and streamline compliancerelated procedures for campus academic departments.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with Illinoisspecific guidelines programmatic standards accreditation requirements federal regulations and internal protocols.
- Prepare for state licensing and accreditor visits by ensuring full readiness and compliance.
- Monitor Illinois governmental regulations and promptly address policy or procedural updates impacting the facility.
- Complete required state licensing programmatic and accreditation reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with departments to clarify state licensure accreditation and regulatory concerns.
- Perform file reviews for compliance with established standards.
- Draft and manage department correspondence related to compliance issues.
- Address other duties as assigned to support institutional objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Business Management Regulatory Affairs Compliance or a related field is required.
- Minimum of five years of compliance experience in higher education specifically with Illinois higher education regulations.
- Experience working with regulatory and accrediting bodies such as IBHE (Illinois Board of Higher Education) ACCSC ABHES CVTEA BON and JRCDMS is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to prepare complex technical documents.
- Experience working with CampusNexus is preferred but not required.
- Ability to multitask prioritize and meet deadlines in fastpaced environments especially during seasonal peaks.
- Exceptional attention to detail critical thinking skills and ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
