A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons ranging from children to adults starting at 3 months old using our fun gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning in our communities.
Your Typical Responsibilities:
- Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure a safe and engaged environment for learning.
- Stay current with any and all training requirements.
- Provide our swimmers and families with a British Swim School brand experience!
- High school diploma equivalent or in the process of completing one.
- Enthusiastic engaging personality.
- Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
- Must complete all required British Swim School Aquaticsspecific training and testing.
- Experience working with children.
- Swimming experience: 12 years preferred but not required.
- Customer service skills
- Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) a plus!

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities most of our students are preschool and elementaryaged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. Its helpful if you have experience with children or in a childfocused job but its not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team even if youre not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the Survival of the Littlest.
