Job Description
Location(s): Palo Alto California / Dubai UAE / Bangalore IND / Mumbai IND
WFO: 3 days a week in office
Travel: Frequent global travel for client meetings team meetings and conferences
We seek a strong leader with proven experience managing and mentoring technical teams. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise with the ability to guide architectural decisions ensure scalability and drive innovation. They must be adept at strategic thinking aligning engineering efforts with business goals and managing resources effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential enabling them to collaborate across departments and report to senior leadership. Additionally the Director should foster a positive team culture promote diversity and have experience scaling teams and systems in a fastpaced environment.
Requirements
youll be responsible for
- Technology Leadership: Oversee Proximitys AI/ML solutions performance engineering and data engineering verticals. Ensure we stay ahead of the curve with cuttingedge technologies and futureproof client solutions.
- Managed Services & Consulting: Lead Proximitys managed engineering and consulting services ensuring highimpact client engagements that align with business goals.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a 50 remote engineering team. Focus on leveraging AI/ML tools to enhance efficiency continuously upskill the team and create a culture of innovation.
- System Scalability & Architecture: Oversee the development of robust backend systems and scalable platforms. Expertise in backend technologies such as Node.js Go Java and cloud platforms like AWS GCP and Azure is required. Ensure the team adopts best practices in distributed systems microservices and DevOps.
- ClientFacing Role: Engage with client CTOs and senior leadership in a consultative capacity. Participate in presales pitches and problemsolving sessions positioning Proximity as a trusted technology partner.
- Strategic Vision: Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the technological vision and align it with Proximitys broader business strategy.
you need
- Experience: 10 years in technology roles with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions ideally within highgrowth companies or startups.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in AI/ML solutions backend technologies (Node.js Go Java) and cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure). Familiarity with frontend frameworks like Next.js and tools such as Docker and Terraform is preferred.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead and mentor large diverse teams fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- ProblemSolving: Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills with experience in navigating resourceconstrained environments using firstprinciples thinking.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills adept at bridging technical and business conversations.
- Client Engagement: Experience with consultative selling and longterm client relationship management especially with Csuite executives is a big plus.
