The Safety Coordinator supports the Plant EHS Manager and interface with all levels of the plant organization providing technical safety and health support including daytoday handson support for safety and health initiatives. This position requires the candidate to spend extensive amount of time 5070 out in the plant. Work is performed in an environment where errors can lead to significant physical or mental consequences for self or others.
Each team member is expected to support the Tate & Lyle culture where Environment Health Food Safety and Quality complies with all EHSQ policies procedures and regulations relevant to their work. Every team member is accountable for working safely and complying with all EHSQS policies procedures and regulations relevant to their work and are expected to speak up and intervene to prevent unsafe conditions and to respect fellow workers and the communities in which we work. Included in this is abidance with our Life Saving Principles (LSPs) and our STOP WORK AUTHORITY which are developed to strengthen our workplace safety prevent serious injury loss of life. Responsible for quality and food safety within their realm of control.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
FOOD ENVIRONMENT HEALTH & SAFETY DUTY OF CARE:
Food Safety:
Carry out responsibilities/duties according to food safety legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption
Environment:
Comply with all environmental standards procedures and work instructions always
Report any environmental violation or near misses to prevent any impact upon the local environment its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle
Health & Safety:
Adhere to the safety policies procedures and site rules
Fully participate in the safety program including reporting any incidents or near misses and auditing
