Job Description

The opportunity Te Whiwhinga mahi 

We are seeking a Development Manager to join our Alumni Relations & Development (ARD) team and connect our vital work to our individual donors corporate sponsors and charitable partners. The positions main purpose is to raise philanthropic funds for undergraduate scholarships through the effective development and implementation of a coordinated and integrated Philanthropic Scholarships Plan.

Developing and managing relationships with individual prospects and corporate partners to secure significant philanthropic gifts for scholarships will be a key focus. Leveraging your interpersonal skills you will effectively engage and steward donors ensuring their contributions are acknowledged and valued. By collaborating with our Associate Director Development senior leaders and the ARD team you will provide a comprehensive programme of recognition and engagement for major donors. Managing a portfolio of scholarship donors will be an essential part of the role.

This position offers the unique advantage of not being limited to a specific portfolio within the university. Instead you will work across all areas and collaborate with other Development Managers at the University of Auckland. This crossfunctional approach allows for a broader impact and the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of donors and projects.

You will contribute to the development of strategic and annual operational plans for the scholarships fundraising function develop and implement KPIs and actively manage stewardship of all scholarship donors. Financial management will be key as you will closely monitor that donor scholarships are awarded and funds are received and spent as specified. In addition you will manage one direct report attend regular meetings and undertake projects as directed by the Associate Director of Development.

This is a full time 37.5 hours/ week) permanent position with a salary range of $117901 $120000 per annum depending on skills and experience. For more information please see the Position Description attached.

The ARD office forms the Universitys centralised point of contact for philanthropic partners and for alumni and friends. Our aim is to build longterm mutually beneficial relationships with alumni and donors. These relationships will lead to contributions of expertise advocacy and philanthropic funds that will help the University of Auckland to play its part in developing knowledge and people for the good of Auckland New Zealand and the global community.
