Job Description
The Design Release Engineer is responsible for the engineering design development validation timing and production release of door liftgate tailagte handles or latches. The Engineer will have end to end ownership of their components and ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives. Responsibilities also include: component design development and packaging; Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing; change management; bill of material maintenance; prototype and production build support; issues management; CAD model management in Teamcenter; weight reduction cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives; and communicating technical product status to management. Additionally supporting vehicle assembly plants for any product technical issues support service teams for any field warranty issues and help in root cause analysis of the failures.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
- Minimum 2 years design release and CAD packaging experience.
- Release experience in both Mechanical and electrical components preferably in door liftgate tailagte handles or latches
- Strong written and oral communication skills Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Computer proficient (including spreadsheet word processing presentation and database applications)
