Job Summary:
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated educator to join our International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme team as a PYP4 Lead Teacher. In this role you will deliver engaging inquirybased learning experiences for Grade 4 students fostering critical thinking global perspectives and a love of learning. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor s degree in Education or a related subject area have a minimum of 2 years teaching in a PYP or inquirybased learning environment and preferably hold an IB PYP certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning & Delivery:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the IB PYP framework for Grade 4.
- Use inquirybased learning strategies to encourage student exploration and critical thinking.
- Assessment & Feedback:
- Design formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
- Collaborative Teaching & Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and enhance the PYP curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the PYP program.
- Classroom Management & Student Support:
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Mentorship & Leadership:
- Serve as a role model and mentor for students and peers promoting the values of the IB PYP.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives that support a cohesive and effective learning community.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Education or a relevant subject area.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching in a PYP or inquirybased learning environment.
- IB PYP certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the IB PYP curriculum and inquirybased instructional methods.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A passion for fostering an engaging supportive and challenging learning environment.
