Job Description

Are you an experienced Porter/Driver with a Full Class 2 Driving License looking for a new role in a company with nearly 150 years of experience within the logistics and removals sector

Due to continued growth were looking for a Class 2 Driver thats hardworking and resilient as youll be delivering and loading/unloading a range of goods from furniture to high valued artwork. Youll be part of a team delivering a premium service loading and unloading ensuring great care is put into the safe journey of our clients valued items and your colleagues.

Requirements

Skills Qualifications and Licences

  • HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (essential)
  • Team leading and/or supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Digital Tacho Driver Card (essential)
  • Drivers Qualification Card (CPC) (essential)
  • Knowledge of established legal tachograph procedures (essential)
  • ADR Packages (preferred)

Daily Responsibilities

  • Vehicle daily checks of your allocated HGV Class 2/7.5t /3.5t vehicle.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is equipped with all the relevant specialist equipment required for the days operation.
  • Lifting and packing a range of Laboratory equipment furniture fine art and more.
  • Taking goods in or out of storage.
  • Lifting and moving loads in excess of 25kg.
  • Ensuring the highest of standards are met when on site.
  • Responsible for your health and safety or you and colleagues.
  • Always deliver excellent customer care and service.
  • Complying with all company and health and safety procedures.

Good IT skills, including knowledge of MS Office Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to work with and communicate effectively with a range of school stakeholders and service providers by advising, guiding, negotiating, persuading in all matters relating to premises management, encouraging others to adopt a desired course of action, resolving problems or circumstances that may be outside current remit. Demonstrate effective skills in working with children Understanding of Health and Safety regulations in relation to premises management and their application within an educational environment Experience of working to Health and Safety legislation Experience of managing teams Experience in setting up and managing repairs and maintenance programmes Experience in managing building and maintenance contractors Experience of compiling health and safety documentation such as risk assessments, policies and statutory inspections logs. Experience of working in an educational environment Positive support for the implementation of school policies and procedures. Has respect and empathy for children and young people and can work in a challenging environment where they may encounter students displaying challenging behaviours. Evidence of continuous professional / personal development. 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (or equivalent) namely Maths, English. Relevant qualifications in facilities management or premises management. Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety management (i.e. NEBOSH/ IOSH).
