The finishing operator has responsibility for all functional finishing assets including S3 S4 rewinder sheeter and lever. This includes leading machine setups and changeovers problemsolving coordinating preventative maintenance (PMs) and making decisions on machine adjustments.
Shift: C Shift 10:45PM7AM MF Building 7
Starting Hourly Rate: $24.16/hr plus $2/hr shift differential
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Activities and duties may vary depending on specific needs. Essential functions may include but are not limited to:
Loading raw material into the machine and unloading finished products.
Determining and controlling the machine cycle varying and modifying as necessary to create and maintain a quality product.
Performing tests and checking product routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices and making some judgments against standards that are not readily measurable.
Housekeeping of assets and maintain quality products.
Meeting production schedules and programming production sequences for optimal productivity.
Following standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher level technical personnel. Monitoring meters gauges valves flow ratios temperatures pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
Maintaining production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
Following all health safety and housekeeping procedures policies and practices. Consistently working in a safe manner with regard to self coworkers and manufacturing systems.
Supporting safety quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Teamwork: Assisting and supporting other team members in meeting department and site goals including Finishing assets in the department. Participating and sharing in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Contributing and participating in team decision making. Providing support in project work and other special requests.
Working short notice overtime to meet the business demand on the metalizer asset.
You must be able to obtain a Lift Truck Operators license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must become lift truck certified
Perform all other functions as necessary.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3 years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.
Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices policies and procedures.
Must have strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause then communicate/educate the team in a timely manner.
Must be able to actively contribute in a teambased environment; encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to crosstrain and sustain acquired skills.
Must have demonstrated a record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
Must be able and willing to work overtime including shortnotice requests.
Must demonstrate proficiency with computer applications especially strong MFG Pro transactional skills.
Preferred Requirements:
35 years of experience in manufacturing in a similar production environment.
Strong shipping/receiving system usage and understanding.
Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Management and Time Management skills.
Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
