Job Summary
The Project Specialist is responsible for safe ontime and successful project/unit that meets or exceeds our client s expectations. The Project Specialist will drive/lead a team of Field Operators ensuring each member is involved in the planning process and is aware of their responsibilities and carries out their tasks seamlessly. Each role should strive for continuous improvement by training their subordinate so they gain experience and prepare for their next role.
Job Responsibilities
- Procedure and Planning Reviews in support of Project Manager.
- Update Project Supervisor/Project Manager for Job status and updates
- Manage unit and drive excellence
- Support/Track Mechanical Equipment Removal
- Ensure all decontamination equipment is staged in field and ready
- Drive drain header/mechanical equipment installation
- Update Daily Job logs
- Support Project Supervisor on Job books are printed and received
- Train and Coach Team Members
- Assist JSA and Toolbox meetings
- Post Job Report write up (Team Effort)
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of six 6 years equivalent experience in refinery unit decontamination.
- Knowledge and experience in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Visio.
- Understanding and able to read P&IDs and other Schematics
- Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding and reading Schedules (P6 and MS Project)
- Ability to lead safe and timely work
Physical Requirements:
- Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights below the waist or lifting as required to place pumps into position in barrels. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting to 50 lbs. overhead with both hands during pump placement.
- Work is generally performed in oil/chemical refinery or pipelines and tank terminals.

Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to dust (chemical and environmental) fumes (chemical and fluids) exhausts and highly pressurized fluids. (Respiratory protective equipment will be provided when required).
- Occasional work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95degree Fahrenheit 98 humidity; and subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
- The noise level in the work environment is often in excess of 85dBa.
