Job Description

The Business Development Manager plays a key role in driving the growth of Hassells mixeduse development portfolio globally with a strong focus on commercial office residential retail and hotels

Based in Sydney this role will work closely with the Head of Clients and Future Business Sector Leaders Principals and BD teams to identify and secure new opportunities strengthen client relationships and position Hassell as a leader in mixeduse design and property sectors.

An ability to delivery strategies that support client engagement market research and winning pursuit strategies. This role is an exciting opportunity to shape Hassells future in mixeduse developments combining strategic vision industry leadership and a passion for creating places people love.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Drive market and portfolio research to identify business opportunities industry trends and competitive insights ensuring a strategic and wellinformed pipeline development process.
  • Lead major pursuit strategies including Go/NoGo decisions bid strategy and proposal efforts in collaboration with design and marketing teams. Capture win/loss feedback and ensure client insights inform future pursuits.
  • Develop and implement business development and gotomarket strategies ensuring alignment with sectorspecific growth targets and regional priorities and business planning.
  • Strengthen Hassells brand and industry presence by identifying the best stakeholders to represent the firm at industry conferences networking events and client meetings to enhance visibility and brand presence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients developers industry partners and collaborators globally.
  • Ensure accurate and effective use of CRM for tracking client relationships.
  • Guide sector leaders in client planning workshops and engagement strategies.
  • Support business planning and pipeline management ensuring alignment with overall firm objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Deliver regular performance reports on new business activities and achievements.

Qualifications :

Skills and Experience

  • A proven track record of success in business development with significant experience in architectural design property or construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic growth secure highvalue projects and cultivate longterm client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial office hotels residential and mixeduse developments.
  • Established Australian industry relationships with Tier 1 & 2 developers and strategic partners.
  • Expertise in client engagement negotiation and strategic business growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Adobe Suite and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong budget management and commercial acumen.
