A Leading Automotive industry is looking for Production Officer who is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process ensuring that production targets quality standards and safety protocols are met. This role requires effective management of personnel resources and production systems to deliver highquality automotive products in a timely and costeffective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Management:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
- Monitor the production process to ensure efficiency quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate with other departments (engineering logistics quality control) to ensure smooth production flow.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and motivate the production team ensuring a high level of performance and accountability.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to improve skills and efficiency.
- Conduct performance reviews and support the recruitment of new production staff as needed.
Quality Control:
- Ensure production meets the required quality standards by working closely with the quality control team.
- Implement corrective actions when quality issues arise and ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications.
- Oversee product testing and ensure all automotive components are thoroughly inspected before shipment.
Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety procedures and compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Identify potential hazards in the production area and take appropriate measures to eliminate risks.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure that the production area is clean and wellmaintained.
Cost Control & Efficiency:
- Monitor production costs and strive to minimize waste downtime and unnecessary expenditures.
- Develop and implement costsaving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Control and optimize the use of materials labor and machinery to achieve production goals efficiently.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Manage inventory levels to avoid production delays and minimize excess stock.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate production records including output downtime inventory levels and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide regular reports to senior management on production status performance metrics and any issues affecting production.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing or related field.
- 5years of experience in a production management role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes machinery and production techniques.
- Experience with lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership communication and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards in the automotive industry.
