Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Automation Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic Systems Solutions team. In this role you will be responsible for designing developing and implementing mechanical systems and components for advanced industrial automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design a passion for innovation and the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create detailed designs for mechanical systems assemblies and components used in industrial automation projects ensuring optimal performance reliability and manufacturability.
- System Integration: Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical designs into complete automation systems.
- Prototyping & Testing: Develop prototypes conduct tests and analyze performance data to validate designs and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- CAD Modeling: Utilize CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD or equivalent) to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet design requirements considering cost durability and performance.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot mechanical issues during development and deployment providing innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
- Documentation: Generate and maintain comprehensive design documentation including BOMs technical specifications and assembly instructions.
- Compliance: Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards safety regulations and customerspecific requirements.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers vendors and clients to deliver highquality solutions on time and within budget.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience in mechanical design preferably within the industrial automation or manufacturing sector.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor or AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems including robotics conveyors and machine mechanisms.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools.
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining welding 3D printing).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detailoriented with a focus on quality and precision.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. Certified SolidWorks Professional Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
