Job Description

The Team 

SEEK Pass is a trusted digital passport used by over 3 million people to manage and share their verified identity credentials and documents. We aim to integrate across the HR ecosystem to provide more value security and convenience for individuals and organisations in employmentrelated processes. 

Our primary use case today is helping job seekers to stand out on SEEK by preverifying their qualifications licences and other credentials so that employers can shortlist them with confidence and speed. We operate as a distinct crossfunctional business unit with integrations into SEEKs job marketplaces across AsiaPacific.

About the Role 

As a Lead Engineer you are an experienced and autonomous leader within our SEEK Pass Engineering teams. In this role you will drive technical alignment enhance engineering practices and ensure the overall health of the teams technical direction. 

You will lead the development of software within product delivery systems or platform teams ensuring engineering excellence and the creation of scalable reliable and usercentric solutions. In addition to your handson contributions you will provide guidance and mentorship to Software Engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth across the team.  

As a passionate advocate for engineering best practices you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical strategy and ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality performance and maintainability. 

  • A technical people leader who might manage a team of between 37 Engineers from Grad Staff level.
  • Help with mentoring and leading others cut the code help review ensure the systems are reliable and secure etc. 
  • Part of a shared leadership group across Product and Operations for Seek Pass
  • Launching credentials across our SEEK brands in Asia
  • Potential to participate or be involved in building SEEKs new references platform 

Responsibilities 

Youll play a meaningful role in: 

  • Helping builds maintain and improve our platforms 
  • Protecting the security and privacy of the user data 
  • Integrating with partners and authorities 
  • Have real involvement in the business direction of the product 

Some of the technology were using includes: 

  • Ruby on Rails 
  • Node.js 
  • GraphQL 
  • PostgreSQL and Redis 
  • All aspects of AWS

Qualifications :

For this role we have a very open mind in terms of specific work experience. If you have the right mindset and capabilities then we strongly encourage you to apply.

Here are some things we would regard highly: 

  • Significant experience either on the back end with Ruby on Rails or frontend with React & Typescript 
  • Experience leading teams using agile software development practices 
  • Writing testable effective and communicative code 
  • Architecting and building highly available scalable secure & performant systems 
  • Data modelling design patterns understanding tradeoffs 
  • Strong experience in agile software development practices 
  • Experience in developing and expanding microservices architecture 
  • Experience in integrating with thirdparty systems 
  • Strong data & application security knowledge and skills 
  • Solid understanding of and experience with AWS services 

As a team member we value the following traits:

  • A keen curiosity about the overall business context and building phenomenal user experiences 

Nice to have (but not essential): 

  • Experience in a startup / scaleup environment 
  • Experience with identity or document verification and compliance
