Job Description

Shift: Monday to Friday 6:00am 2:30pm

The Maintenance Facilities Tech & Grounds job is to keep the plant building equipment running in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains and repairs building and equipment. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of but not be limited to the following:

  • . Maintains all buildings by repairing replacing installing and maintaining components of plumbing electrical mechanical and structural components of buildings; installs and replaces window glass; repairs and replaces roofing materials; builds forms for cement work; pours and finishes cement; installs and repairs drywall; plaster; paints; maintains heating systems air conditioning unit and swamp coolers; changes filters and pads; lubricates and cleans components; starts and secures systems for changes in season.

    2. Mows fertilizes irrigates and otherwise cares for lawns; plants prunes removes and otherwise cares for trees shrubs and other landscape plants; rakes and removes leaves limbs and other debris; cleans rain gutters and drain spouts; installs and maintains fences and gates; removes snow and ice from steps walkways roofs gutters and down drains; installs checks and repairs the irrigation system.

    3. Moves furniture records and office fixtures; assists with setup of facilities such as the Community Center for special events; installs curtains blinds dispensers and other office fixtures; repairs doors and locks; makes keys; changes light bulbs; performs minor repairs to furniture; cleans and maintains tools and equipment used.

Safety:

  • Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
  • Maintain a safe clean and organized work area.
  • Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies to the lead/foreman/supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Qualifications :

Required Education: High school diploma or GED

Required Experience: Minimum five years of experience performing building maintenance and construction work which included performing a broad range of plumbing electrical carpentry and ground maintenance work

Required Certifications and Licenses: Valid Wisconsin drivers license

Preferred:

  • EPA Section 608 certification
  • Formal HVAC technical training and/or school
  • Back flow preventor testing license
  • English/Spanish bilingual.

REQUIRED SKILLS KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

  • Skill in diagnosing equipment defects and making necessary repairs.
  • Must be a team player that is committed to working in a quality environment. 
  • The ability to work independently with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Must be an agent for change and receptive to innovative ideas from others.
  • The ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other Team Members and departments.
  • The ability to deal with multiple tasks while using good judgment.
  • The ability to perform heavy physical work exercising up to 50 pounds of strength frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves stooping crouching kneeling reaching standing walking and grasping


Additional Information :

The starting rate for this role is $25.00 $30.00(Hourly). Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to external market data internal equity location and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Links Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and programspecific awards. Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands to finger handle or feel lift and/or move in excess 50 pounds and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. .

Strength stamina and dexterity to walk on uneven or slippery surfaces for brief periods. Perform heavy manual tasks using power and hands tools. Perform repetitive motions including use of controls with hands and feet climb up steps and ladders and reach to perform repair and construction tasks using tools and holding materials. Use of both legs to operate controls on equipment and vehicles. Manual dexterity to use tools and operate controls on equipment to complete fine tasks. Strength to lift and carry tools materials and parts weighing in excess of 50lbs. Visual acuity sufficient to perform work in a variety of lighting conditions including bright light low light and low visibility conditions; depth perception sufficient to make repairs and adjustments to determine position of equipment components. Ability to hear changes in operation of motors and other equipment.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Both indoor and outdoor assignments in environments ranging from normal office conditions to extreme weather conditions including heat rain snow cold and wind dust vibrations and noise. Travel may be required.
