Lead C Software Engineer

Our Customer is a leading force in the renewable energy sector dedicated to powering homes and businesses with 100 clean energy. Through cuttingedge technology we manage renewable resources like wind and solar utilizing innovative data solutions to ensure energy availability when demand peaks.

We are seeking an experienced Algorithmic/Electronic Trading Systems Technical Lead to join a dynamic team in London. You will work closely with the Electronic Market Making (EMM)/Trading business to design develop and implement cuttingedge electronic trading systems. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in C programming and extensive experience in highperformance trading environments.

As the Technical Lead you will:

• Provide Technical Leadership: Lead a team of expert C developers driving excellence in software engineering practices and highperformance trading systems.
• Handson Development: Design and code core components of the trading platform ensuring performance scalability and low latency.
• Champion Operational Excellence: Ensure platform stability and maximize uptime for trading systems across global markets.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements

This role requires a minimum of three days per week onsite presence in London.

• Experience:
  • 5 10 years of experience in software development.
  • Minimum 5 years in technical leadership roles.
• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field with an excellent academic track record.
• Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile Scrum or similar methodologies.

Technical Expertise

• C Proficiency: Advanced skills in C programming with a deep understanding of objectoriented principles data structures and algorithms.
• HighPerformance Trading Systems: Proven track record in algorithmic/electronic/realtime trading systems development in financial institutions hedge funds proprietary trading firms or specialist liquidity providers.
• Systems Design & Optimisation: Expertise in distributed systems architecture and performance/latency optimisation.
• Linux Platforms: Strong knowledge and experience with Linuxbased development environments.

Additional Skills

• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) CI/CD pipelines and build systems.
• Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g. Python Java) is a plus.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into functional and optimized code.

Leadership & Communication

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead or similar role with a track record of managing highperforming engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to mentor team members influence stakeholders and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Flexible and pragmatic mindset with an open approach to learning and problemsolving.
