Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join our Cardiology team. In this role you will play a critical part in diagnosing and treating congenital heart conditions in pediatric patients. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver highquality personalized care. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and analyze echocardiograms on pediatric patients with congenital heart conditions ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Verify patient identity obtain medical history and assess the patients ability to tolerate the procedure.
- Collaborate with cardiologists to provide preliminary findings and ensure the examination aligns with the patients clinical history.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment performing routine quality assurance and reporting any malfunctions.
- Assist in training and onboarding new sonographers and cardiology fellows sharing your expertise and knowledge.
- Participate in departmental meetings quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advancements in the field.
- Provide compassionate patientcentered care ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for patients and their families.
- Participate in an oncall schedule to support the departments needs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiac Sonography Technology Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology (preferred).
- Certifications:
- Basic or Advanced Life Support certification (required).
- One of the following credentials (required):
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by CCI
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Candidates with RCS or RDCS AE must obtain RCCS or RDCS PE within 18 months of employment.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex medical data.
