Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
- Directs and coordinates office services and related activities.
- Interacts with physicians and physician offices and Centralized Scheduling.
- Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation. Reviews physician reports; charts and charges procedures electronically. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Effectively interacts with patient and significant others; while maintaining professional standards. Interacts with Cardiologists and referring physicians according to applicable departmental policies regarding critical findings.
- Exhibits excellent critical thinking skills. Interacts with managers to discuss significant findings; clinical situations; workflow status and equipment malfunctions.
- Often works without direct supervision and must have outstanding work ethics and integrity.
- Must be registered in both Adult Cardiac and Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI. Must acquire CMEs as required by professional registries.
- Performs nonultrasound tests including stress tests; ambulatory cardiac monitoring; EKGs
- Collaborates with outlying medical facilities to provide cardiac monitoring services
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma
Minimum Work Experience
- 1 year on the job training or graduate of accredited ultrasound school.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- RDCS or RCS in adult echo and RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound or one of these in combination with another ultrasound registry; i.e. general
- BLS should not initiate patient contact until completed.
- Supervisory skills including ability to teach and train.
Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
- Perform all diagnostic cardiovascular procedures that are available in NonInvasive Cardiology.
- Master use of all equipment including ultrasound systems; PVR; BP monitors and computer systems.
- Attends required training programs and staff meetings and completes computerbased learning lessons.
