JOB SUMMARY

  • Directs and coordinates office services and related activities.
  • Interacts with physicians and physician offices and Centralized Scheduling.
  • Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation. Reviews physician reports; charts and charges procedures electronically. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Effectively interacts with patient and significant others; while maintaining professional standards. Interacts with Cardiologists and referring physicians according to applicable departmental policies regarding critical findings.
  • Exhibits excellent critical thinking skills. Interacts with managers to discuss significant findings; clinical situations; workflow status and equipment malfunctions.
  • Often works without direct supervision and must have outstanding work ethics and integrity.
  • Must be registered in both Adult Cardiac and Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI. Must acquire CMEs as required by professional registries.
  • Performs nonultrasound tests including stress tests; ambulatory cardiac monitoring; EKGs
  • Collaborates with outlying medical facilities to provide cardiac monitoring services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma

Minimum Work Experience

  • 1 year on the job training or graduate of accredited ultrasound school.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • RDCS or RCS in adult echo and RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound or one of these in combination with another ultrasound registry; i.e. general
  • BLS should not initiate patient contact until completed.
  • Supervisory skills including ability to teach and train.

Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities

  • Perform all diagnostic cardiovascular procedures that are available in NonInvasive Cardiology.
  • Master use of all equipment including ultrasound systems; PVR; BP monitors and computer systems.
  • Attends required training programs and staff meetings and completes computerbased learning lessons.
