About the role
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Maths to join our amazing team who:
Is an outstanding and passionate practitioner
Has experience in teaching Maths from Grades 6 to 12
Has experience teaching Maths High School Diploma, IB Diploma Maths AA or AI, or A Level equivalent would be advantageous
Is passionate about teaching and learning with a commitment to continuous improvement
Will be committed to the vision of igniting passion, purpose and potential in our students
Can contribute to the development of the Maths Department offering creative opportunities to enrich the learning experience of students at THIS
Adapts the curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress
Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement
Has excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, parents, and school leaders
Maintains high levels of behaviour among students, while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines
Is passionate about learning beyond the curriculum
Teaching and Instruction
Lesson Planning: Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons that meet the curriculum requirements and are adapted to the needs of the students.
Curriculum Delivery: Teach a range of mathematical topics, such as algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and trigonometry, according to the syllabus and student ability levels.
Differentiation: Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
Practical Application: Encourage students to apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems, helping them see the relevance of mathematics in everyday life.
Strong Communication Skills: The ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a clear, understandable manner to students with different learning styles and abilities.
Classroom Management: Excellent skills in managing a classroom and maintaining a positive, productive learning environment.
Differentiation: Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of a diverse group of students, including those with learning difficulties or advanced learners.
ICT Proficiency: Comfortable using technology, such as interactive whiteboards, learning platforms, and educational software, to enhance student learning and engagement.
Assessment and Data Analysis: Ability to design, administer, and analyze assessments effectively. Use data to monitor progress and adapt teaching to help all students succeed.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, department heads, and staff to contribute to the school’s goals and the development of the mathematics curriculum.
