Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Development Major Gifts the Individual Giving Officer identifies cultivates solicits and stewards donors giving or capable of giving $1000$9999 annually. The Individual Giving Officer will prioritize some 200 donors in an active portfolio and implement bestpractice fundraising tactics to build authentic relationships deepen donor interest and involvement and secure gifts to meet or

exceed the positions annual goal. As a member of a wider team the Individual Giving Officer will also work collaboratively with other team members to reach or exceed the organizations overall philanthropic funding goal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages an active portfolio of 200 donors giving $1000 $9999 segmented by tiers and corresponding tactics.
  • Meets or exceeds quarterly/annual revenue goals aligned with phases of the donor cycle by fulfilling metrics related to stewardship engagement and solicitation strategies and frequency.
  • Collaborates closely with the Development Director Major Gifts to identify and matriculate donors into the $10000 and above giving range through thoughtful stewardship and engagement.
  • Contributes to the Development Teams collective outreach strategies such as campaigns events special funding opportunities and other donor engagement.
  • Assists with evolution of the agencys Planned Giving program.
  • Assists with creation and activation of regular presentations to philanthropists businesses community and other forums with the goal of generating donations and involvement.
  • Completes required agency training on time.
  • Completes other duties as required.

INTERACTION

In addition to relationships with donors the Individual Giving Officer interacts closely with organization leadership development and marketing and communications and may interact with other internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.


Qualifications :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in communications business administration nonprofit administration or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Candidates must have three years of fundraising and nonprofit development experience particularly with individual donors.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills: written verbal inperson and including presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills: creating authentic relationships with donors from all backgrounds and ages and internally with agency collaborators. Indepth knowledge of nonprofit organizational practices development principles fundraising techniques and fundraising ethics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A professional demeanor with an aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Responsible well organized and demonstrating initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
  • Nights & weekends may be required.
  • Be a resident of San Diego County and able to work at least three days weekly onsite as required. Feeding San Diego extends a hybrid work schedule as an employee benefit and reserves the right to revoke the hybrid policy as needed.

Personal computer copier printer facsimile machine and support software: Salesforce Raise iWave and more.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California drivers license including continuous proof of a satisfactory driving record and personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under FSD insurance carrier standards.

PHYSICAL MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly expected to:

  • Work in an office adjacent to a warehouse setting with occasional travel to other locations in San Diego County.
  • Prioritizes and multitask work and projects requiring good memory concentration and analytical thinking.
  • Occasionally it is required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but this office is maintained in a distribution center with machinery and large trucks.

PAY & HOURS

Pay Range: $80000 to $85000

Status: FullTime Exempt

Work Hours/Location: Hybrid M T TH in office and W & F remote
