Principal Business Analyst - Front of House

In your new role you will oversee the analysis and design of solutions for our network of stores. Every year the systems you will shape support:

• billions of dollars in sales
• thousands of staff members
• millions of transactions serving a significant percentage of the population

The Principal Business Analyst role is a key position within a program of work. You will sit at the centre of business analysis activities: assessing the roadmap understanding upcoming initiatives ensuring our systems are fit for purpose helping teams understand and solve complex business problems and improving our analysis approaches tools and processes. You also wont be afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive in for some handson analysis testing or production support when required.

• Develop a strong working understanding of the JB HiFi business and how our systems create value
• Lead business analysis activities across the program analyse business needs and facilitate shared understanding between stakeholders and development teams
• Assist the Program Manager with prioritisation and facilitating a steady stream of work
• Take ownership of work and responsibility for getting it done; this is more than documentation it involves working through problems communication discussion and exploration
• Mentor other Business Analysts and provide advice on approaches solution options and technical considerations
• Ensure the systems we deliver are fit for purpose
• Help design solutions with an understanding of work priority trading off perfection and delivery according to context
• Identify risks issues and improvement opportunities and ensure they are escalated as necessary
• Support recruitment for new Business Analyst roles
• Help filter incoming support tickets identify patterns of concern and assist with stakeholder management

Qualifications :

• 6 years of commercial business analysis experience
• Substantial production experience with complex systems
• Strong working knowledge of data analysis techniques including the ability to query and analyse data from a variety of sources e.g. relational databases document databases etc)
• Ability to visualise and present information to support shared understanding across technical and nontechnical roles
• Skilled at identifying breaking down and analysing complex business problems
• Expertise in problemsolving navigating solutions that balance business value technical feasibility and cost
• Capacity to mentor and guide other analysts in producing the right quality of work for the context
