Job Description:
Our client is a leading mining company with multiple operations across the country who require a Superintendent Business and Data Analyst. Some core duties include Identify problems apply critical thinking together with business knowledge to provide information and reporting; Assist the different Stakeholders in the entire systems value chain ensuring that the strategic objectives are met; Assist with compiling and tactical implementation of business specifications for functionality of IT systems for the design change requests and/or new system implementation. Responsibilities:
- Assist with implementation and project manage applicable systems changes to enhance the efficiency of the use of IT systems.
- Propose system change requests and align them with business rules specifications and requirements.
- Participate in the selection of IT system vendors where required.
- Liaison between ICT and business where required.
- Implement the business analysis approach and ensure it is aligned with the strategic drivers.
- Engage with end users and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and define the scope of reports.
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders and other key role players to deliver analysis requirements or business system changes.
- Extract transform and load data from multiple sources including CSV files SharePoint Excel spreadsheets Power BI datasets BW and AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Ensure data accuracy completeness and consistency during the integration process.
- Assist and implement the use of analysis.
- Ensure that business definitions for tables and master data are in line with business and continuously updated.
- Ensure strategies are in place to continuously update master data to ensure appropriate complete and accurate master data.
- Assist with data analysis for thirdparty use and public distribution.
- Design develop and maintain relational databases.
- Create database tables indexes views and other database objects.
- Ensure data integrity and performance in database structures.
- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data retrieval manipulation and updates.
- Debug and optimize existing SQL code for better performance.
- Implement stored procedures triggers and functions as needed.
- Develop technical designs for Power BI reports including data models calculations relationships and visualisations.
- Utilise DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex calculations and measures.
- Design efficient and userfriendly report layouts and interactive dashboards.
- Implement visualisations interactive filters slicers and drill through capabilities to provide an immersive user experience.
- Design and implement dashboards and new technology as required.
- Design and implement specifications for outcomes of business analysis.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data within the reports.
- Perform testing and validation to confirm that reports meet the defined requirements.
- Design methodology and project documentation – technical specifications business process documentation.
- Creating a user manual or playbook for each report.
- Change Management Process.
- Train employees on changes to systems and processes.
- Develop training programmes for employees on usage of new tools and enhancements thereof.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- NQF 6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate)
- NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) and Project Management advantageous
- Microsoft Certification as Power BI Data Analyst Associate advantageous
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in a related role.
- Have a minimum 23 years of experience in building reporting solutions using Power BI.
- Display strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power Bi Service.
- Show strong understanding of integration and systems i.e. COUPA/SAP etc.
- Have a minimum 23 years in the following applications: SQL SharePoint site development PowerApps Power Automate Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML).
- Display proven expertise in data integration from various sources such as Azure Synapse Excel CSV SharePoint and Power BI datasets.
- Demonstrate experience in designing and developing interactive and visually appealing reports dashboards and visualisations in Power BI.
- Show solid understanding of data visualisation best practices and ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Show expertise in writing complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas for creating advanced calculations and measures.
- Display proficiency in Power Query M Language for data transformation and cleansing.
- Be familiar with SQL queries and database concepts.
- Show strong Stakeholder Relations experience including managing the delivery of systems expectations and service expectations of service providers.
- Have an understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework impacting on the systems design and delivery.
- Be computer literate (Power BI Excel SQL SAP modules Coupa AWS and related software programs).
- Be experienced in the design of systems functional specifications and strategy for business processed where required.
- Display excellent project knowledge in the implementation of any business requests.
- Have experience in writing training documents (specifications charters change control training)
- Have a valid driver’s license.
