Job Description
Business Line specific context
- The person is the financial representative of the Transportation Business Line for the SubRegion (Region) working closely with the business line heads in charging and strengthening project financial monitoring at bid stage project initiation and phase up to project closure through relevant analysis and regular projects reviews.
- The Finance manager will also participate in forecasting and monitoring business Line profitability and produce thorough financialstatus reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
- Viewed as a trusted business advisor the person supports the Regional Business/Service Line Director with key financial information and operational analytics while driving a culture of accountability in managing the business and adding value to operating businesses.
Job description
Project Controlling
- Financial supervision of large transverse projects that are delegated by Business Line/service line.
Provide financial insight at tendering to closing stage (tax legal guarantees review of hypothesis and price sheets proposition of contractual setup) - Advise on project structuring financial and tax strategies for intercompany projects so as to optimize benefits at Group level taking into consideration legal and tax provisions prevailing in the Region.
- Ensure proper implementation of project structuring accurate booking of expenses and timely cash management by Regional Controllers and accountants for the project portfolio.
- Participate or initiate regular projects reviews so as to enhance projects production margins challenge any margin deterioration and ensure action plans are defined and implemented to restore/enhance margins at project completion
- Liaise with country accountants and controllers to create an environment of trust and productivity.
Financial Analysis
- Review challenge and validate of key financial hypothesis taken by region controller for regular project managed by country controllers at closing or planning stage.
- Drive 5 years Business Plan budget and Forecasts preparation for BL in the Region and especially analysis and forecast of nonsigned projects.
- Provide detailed monthly analysis and commentary on business line performance compared to Budget Forecasts and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and action items
- Work closely with the accounting team on accurate financial reporting and compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Collect information to provide monthly KPIs to the Business Line management.
- Provide Market Risk and Business analysis for the Business line.
- Driving Follow up on Working Capital DSO by project country region for the business lines.
- Monitor operational employees allocation and the efficiency with the Billable Hours Ratio
- Participating in tool and process improvement.
Qualifications :
- BSc degree in Finance Accounting or relevant field. MBA or related advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience of project financial management and controlling with advantage on full understanding of percentage of completion accounting type of business
- Fluent English in both writing and speaking is essential.
- Ideally having worked in an international civil engineering or projectbased engineering organisation
- Good understanding on project related tax topic will be a plus
- Engagement skills working across a matrix organization strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Technology skills: perfect command of finance management software Oracle
- Leadership skills with a sense of expertise
- Communication critical thinking initiative empathy analytical collaboration organizational skills.
