About the Design and Technology Department:

The Design and Technology department is a collaborative and forwardthinking team with a shared passion for fostering a love of design and making in our students. We offer a wellequipped workshop with stateoftheart facilities including CAD/CAM equipment and a stimulating curriculum that covers a wide range of materials and processes.

About the Role:

• Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching Product Design at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
• Use a range of teaching methods and resources including practical activities design projects and CAD/CAM software to bring Resistant Materials to life for students.
• Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
• Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Resistant Materials curriculum remains relevant challenging and inspiring.
• Foster a love of design and making in students encouraging them to explore different materials and processes and develop their creativity and problemsolving skills.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Design and Technology education.

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds QTS or equivalent.
• Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and a passion for design and making.
• Demonstrates a commitment to teaching and student success.
• Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
• Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
• Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Design and Technology and relevant examination specifications.
• Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
