About the Design and Technology Department:
The Design and Technology department is a collaborative and forwardthinking team with a shared passion for fostering a love of design and making in our students. We offer a wellequipped workshop with stateoftheart facilities including CAD/CAM equipment and a stimulating curriculum that covers a wide range of materials and processes.
About the Role:
- Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching Product Design at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Use a range of teaching methods and resources including practical activities design projects and CAD/CAM software to bring Resistant Materials to life for students.
- Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Resistant Materials curriculum remains relevant challenging and inspiring.
- Foster a love of design and making in students encouraging them to explore different materials and processes and develop their creativity and problemsolving skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Design and Technology education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and a passion for design and making.
- Demonstrates a commitment to teaching and student success.
- Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Design and Technology and relevant examination specifications.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
