About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative researcher with expertise in the computational analysis of cancer genomes to join Mike Stratton's team as a Staff Scientist in the CASM Programme.
You Will Be Responsible For
You will play a lead role in a global study investigating the causes of earlyonset colorectal cancer. This computationalbased project will involve analysis of colorectal cancer genomes and you will play a key role in data analysis interpretation and manuscript preparation. You will work closely with members of our team as well as our network of international partners while contributing to the overall research strategy of Mike Stratton’s team.
You will join a supportive inclusive and friendly team consisting of PhD students postdoctoral fellows staff scientists research assistants and project management support.
About Us
Our team uses whole genome sequencing to identify and understand the changes in the genome that occur over the course of a person's lifetime. Our focus is to identify and ascribe patterns of mutations to environmental and cellular factors to understand when they occur how they drive cancer and how their effects vary between human populations.

Essential skills:
Technical Skills And Experience
- PhD in Biological Sciences
- Experience in a scientific research role
- Experience in cancer genetics and genomics
- Experience in analysing next generation sequencing data

- Experience in data management and quality control of biological datasets
- Proficiency in using the command line

Salary per annum: £44890 to £53331 dependent on skills and experience
