Global Sourcing is part of the Finance organization and manages Visas endtoend sourcing and procurement of goods and services. Sourcing is responsible for partnering with business owners to lead all strategic sourcing activities globally to ensure optimal selection of suppliers that deliver best value in price and quality while minimizing risk to Visa.

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Technology Sourcing this Sourcing Manager will serve as an individual contributor and own a portfolio in support of Visas Technology organization.  Yearoveryear this person will oversee approximately USD40M in spend across a number of key suppliers.  The specific focus on this role will involve consulting with Technology stakeholders to define a vision then delivering upon that vision through of Sourcing activities.  This role will partner closely with key stakeholders within Visas Technology Finance and other organizations including but not limited to E/SVPlevel leaders globally.  In this role he/she will provide subject matter expertise deep market insights and strategic guidance to business leaders by understanding their strategy initiatives and plans. This person will be expected to deliver against an annual savings target.

Responsibilities

This is a midlevel role within Visas Global Technology Sourcing organization and the responsibilities range from building relationships with Technology executives and working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive strategic decision to leading sourcing business partners to deliver savings while balancing the risks and regulatory issues from engaging third parties. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

Relationship Building

• This role supports Visas Technology Infrastructure Systems Sourcing Strategy and key stakeholders within Visa IT.

• Build strong relationships with business partners to drive Sourcing engagements and increase the influence/role of Sourcing within the various business teams.  This person can expect direct visibility to senior executives including but not limited to Visas President of Technology and Technology Leadership Team members.

• Regularly update executives at all levels of the company on deal status category reporting etc.  Provide continuous written and verbal updates to the business partners suppliers and other stakeholders on the status of deal.

• Take a global view to ensure that Visa leverages its scale domestically and internationally.

Category Expertise

• Collaborate with Category teams and Visa Technology to establish the Supplier / Product Strategy for Infrastructure Systems Software as a category of spend at Visa.

• Understand the Visa Technology footprint the long and shortterm strategies and the suppliers within that landscape.

• Oversee the aligned categories. Understand the supplier impacts and effectively communicate to Sourcing executives and Technology stakeholders to inform risk/reward decisionmaking.

• Perform market analysis to support recommendations to the Technology teams.

• Drive a sustainable pipeline of activity and proactively engages Technology Business Partners to ensure proper runway.

• Maintain an understanding of the regulatory market as it impacts Visa Technologys Infrastructure Software strategy and market approach. 

• This role will have global reach high impact and will be responsible for delivery of key programlevel initiatives.  The preferred candidate will bring an understanding of software licensing and have a cando attitude. 

Sourcing Capabilities Commercial & Contract Negotiations

• Manage escalations.  Support the Sourcing and Technology teams to negotiate and drive bestinclass deals for Visa.  This role requires a strategic view and the willingness to execute on the daytoday.

• Drive multivendor strategies to optimize Visas leverage and reduce operational risk. Execute RFx events to support Visas Technology organization.

• Perform savings tracking and report realized savings on a continual basis.

• Negotiate contract terms and conditions as a first line of defense in partnership with Visa Legal Data Privacy Cybersecurity and other teams.

• Take part in quarterly reporting regularly recurring team meetings and ongoing updates to direct reports peers and leaders around the organization.

• You will take part in a complex timebased skills test in which you will work through a realworld situation.  Candidates will be required to model the scenario in Excel and/or PowerPoint and present conclusions to a member or panel of leadership.  You will also be asked questions specific to the category and about your broader theories on procurement.

• You can expect to be asked detailed questions about your background

  • If you are a seasoned Software professional expect that we will ask you about deals you have led including details pertaining to spend license metrics strategy and results.

  • Expect that we will ask you fundamental questions about technology licensing (for example What is the difference between a CPU and a Core What are the advantages/disadvantages to perpetual versus subscription licensing).

  • You will meet with a diverse team of technical business partners as well as Visa Sourcing leadership to assess your Sourcing and business acumen.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at
least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters MBA
JD MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualification
4 years of experience as a sourcing and/or procurement professional
preferably with a focus on Technology and Software supplier relationships.
Demonstrated understanding of software licensing including the ability to
converse with and influence key IT and Procurement executives on supplier
strategy sales models market/Visa levers and financial modelling.
Excellent written oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize
complex and technical information into clear recommendations on course of
action.
Demonstrated technology and software negotiation experience.
Experience supporting technology and other stakeholders with a passion to
deliver outstanding customer service forge lasting relationships and
approach goals with team interests in mind.
Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and influence key vendor
account executives.
High level of selfmotivation and initiative and ability to operate as a team
player.
Willingness to offer thought leadership to think creatively and to offer new
ways of approaching old problems.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience required preferable in
business economics computer science or engineeringrelated field graduate
degree in business economics or engineering a plus.
