Job Description

Our client is the UKs leading supplier of garden pots with a reputation for excellence and expertise in the design and distribution of gardenware and horticulture products. The family business has been trading since 1987 prioritising quality and endtoend customer service. They distribute products to over 2000 garden centres and retail outlets nationwide.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a fulltime Merchandiser to join the team. The new team member will be coresponsible for merchandising pots that are delivered to Garden Centres.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive sales through effective visual display merchandising point of sale promotions and reducing markdowns
  • Delivering a very high standard of customer service
  • Discussing our range of products with customers and secure add on sales when appropriate
  • Processing credit requests with garden centres when necessary
  • Placement of stands and benches within garden centre
  • Securely fixing point of sale on the stands and displays
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace that is safe for both yourself and the general public

Knowledge Skills and Experience Required
Essential

  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise appropriately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective team and supplier relationships
  • Capable of lifting heavy items on a regular basis
  • Happy to work outside
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of the garden centre/wholesale/FMCG industry
  • Ambition to create trust with our customers and build relationships to take on sales merchandiser role to take responsibility for the sales and merchandising of Ireland

  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Trustworthy and reliable;
  • Personable team player but also able to work alone.
  • Flexible to work some long days

Schedule:

  • Monday Friday with occasional Saturdays as required during the busy seasons

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Work Location: On the road
Reporting to: Area Sales Representative
Salary: up topa DOE 1.5x daily rate) for Saturdays DOE
Location: Ireland
