Wage Range: $20.22  25.28 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Hours: 35 Hours per Week
Shifts: Monday Friday
Status: Permanent FullTime

Job Summary

The Ambulatory Clinics of the MultiOrgan Transplant Program are designed to meet the followup health needs of organ transplant recipients. All patients transplanted at UHN have a designated Transplant Coordinator within the Ambulatory program who assists in managing their care along with the multidisciplinary health team. Each organ group has a specific time and weekday for clinic with appointments scheduled through their coordinator.

Duties

As a member of the Ambulatory Transplant Department the principal responsibilities of the RECEPTIONIST include: answering screening and triaging telephone calls; receiving patients/visitors coming in for tests/procedures and/or appointments; scheduling patients for tests special procedures and/or urgent/emergency appointments; following established procedures to ensure the efficient flow of patient/patient appointments; providing routine clerical support services; performing crossfunctional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and/or required.


Qualifications :

  • At minimum completion of post secondary certificate up to 1 year in Office Administration or recognized equivalent
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years practical and related experience
  • General knowledge of office practices processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience working in a health care environment an asset.
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multitask
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
  • Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills
  • Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to handle difficult patients/situations
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
