Primary Functions of Position
The role of a Salesforce Master Data Management (MDM) Data Architect is critical in ensuring that an organization effectively manages and utilizes its data across various systems. The primary functions include:
- **Data Governance**: Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality consistency and security across the organization. This includes defining data ownership standards and best practices.
- **Data Modeling**: Design and develop comprehensive data models that align with business requirements and facilitate data integration. This involves understanding existing data structures and creating a blueprint for future needs.
- **Integration Solutions**: Create integration strategies that allow data to flow seamlessly between Salesforce and other enterprise systems. This includes identifying and implementing appropriate tools and technologies for effective data exchange.
- **Data Quality Management**: Implement processes and tools to continuously monitor and improve data quality. This includes defining metrics conducting data profiling and establishing data cleansing routines.
- **Collaboration with Stakeholders**: Work closely with various stakeholders including business analysts developers and data stewards to understand their data requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- **Master Data Strategy**: Develop and maintain a master data strategy that defines how to manage key entities (such as customers products and vendors) within the Salesforce ecosystem.
- **Technical Leadership**: Provide technical guidance to the team on MDM best practices and assist in troubleshooting datarelated issues within Salesforce and related platforms.
- **Training and Support**: Offer training and support to users on data management tools and processes to foster a culture of data stewardship within the organization.
By fulfilling these functions a Salesforce MDM Data Architect plays a vital role in leveraging data as a strategic asset ultimately driving better decisionmaking and enhancing operational efficiency.
Essential Job Duties
- Work independently in a time critical environment and as part of a team on ongoing projects.
- Understanding of how master data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomes
- Ability to influence peers and subordinates to modify behaviors and provide support for the adoption of data governance policies
- Synthesize information to create professional project deliverables including meeting minutes business requirements business process flows value stream maps and data flow diagrams.
- Create and present highquality documents that can be shared with end users.
- Follow GxP standards for writing complete and accurate user stories.
- Communicate enhancement requests to implementation team.
- Create test cases including various scenarios/edge cases to test the effectiveness of user stories.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong analytical presentation and reporting skills.
- Must be able to perform work effectively in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
- Must be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
- Be able to evaluate and recommend improvements to the user interface and user experience design in order to drive efficiency of the related business processes. Be able to recognize and correct user experiences that are not scalable.
- Collaboration with key project stakeholders and business communities to comprehend the overall business vision for each project.
- Collaboration with developers and SMEs to build the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs.
- Plan create deliverables for and facilitate User Acceptance Testing.
- Communicate progress and status to business stakeholders and Technology management via written reports.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience
- Implementing Salesforce MDM configuration to refine data matching survivorship and merge rules
- Customizing Salesforce MDM Title and referencedata to meet stakeholder needs.
- Experience with Customer Master Install Base Master and maintains master data metadata data management repositories logical data models data standards
- Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture for extraction transformation and loading of data from various data sources both internal and external
- Participate in the development of architectures strategies and policies around data governance including master data management metadata management data quality and data profiling
- Partner with cross functional teams and stakeholders to develop MDM vision and strategy.
- Communicates and maintains master data metadata data management repositories logical data models data standards
- Assembles large complex sets of data that meet nonfunctional and functional business requirements
- Experience in writing user stories integration specifications and business requirement documents.
- Minimum 6 years of experience with Salesforce configuration and administration.
- Developing requirements for Salesforce development and API development.
- Developing integration requirements for integrations between Salesforce and other applications based on batch near realtime and realtime integration patterns.
- Writing requirements for Application development and integration development.
- Experience with Agile scrum methodology leading a team of motivated experienced developers to deliver a highquality technical solution.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively participate in all agile ceremonies
Required Education and Training
- Minimum education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core proficiencies for the role
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Delivering highvalue business outcomes applying an agile approach
- Confirmed results leading customer and/or partner success stories
- Experience working with Experience Cloud
- Relevant Salesforce certifications and consulting experience are strongly recommended
This job is Onsite in Sunnyvale CA 3 days weekly.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications.
