The Host/Cashier is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The Host/Cashier is also responsible for greeting guests arranging for prompt seating and for performing all sales transactions. The Host/Cashier is responsible for ensuring that guests feel welcome and comfortable in accordance with Boyd Gaming customer service standards.

- Responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other team members while providing superior guest service. Has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with guests.
- Greets guests in a friendly courteous manner and arranges for seating; monitors room atmosphere.
- Provides information on all aspects of Boyd Gaming services and facilities to guests.
- Quotes accurate waiting times and handles guest waiting lists or reservations in accordance with established procedures.
- Acts as a liaison between service staff and casino hosts to obtain camps for guests.
- In frontofhouse areas greets guests in a friendly courteous manner and answers inquiries before completing sales transactions ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Answers telephones and handles guest inquiries in person or by telephone.
- Checks all supplies ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all coverages and shortages.
- Assists with overall room functions by performing duties that include cleaning and resetting tables menus folding napkins and handing out customer comment cards as required.
- Ability to use a cash register.
- Ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make correct change.
- Ability to read ticket totals total credit vouchers and log checks.
- Ability to restock needed materials and retrieve dropped items.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.
- This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise crowds and smoke the severity of which depends on customer volume.
Qualifications :
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in fine dining preferred.
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through six months of onthejob training or through related cashier or host experience.
- Possession of and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
- Must be 18 years of age
- Delivers superior internal and external guest service In Boyd Style.
